Feeding of sintered parts presents a very tricky challenge in the case of vibratory feeders. The reason being that these are fragile and even a very small fall from the from the top of the bowl can break them. Due to this reason, a special type of lining / coating is required if these require to be fed in a bowl feeder. The Elscinthane PU coating is most suitable and requires extra thickness. Further the Bowl too is required to be designed in such a manner that the possibility of a fall is reduced if not eliminated. If the components do fall during orientation, the fall is contained by specially designed flaps.

Feeding of spoons is a very tricky affair as most of
the times they do not have a particular geometry whereby one can hold them.
They can slip out due their inherent design. Hence, feeding of spoons is always
difficult in a vibratory bowl feeder. However, it is possible to manufacture
bowl feeders for feeding and orienting spoons at high speed. This requires proper
knowledge and skill on the part of the bowl tooler. In fact, in a correctly
designed bowl feeder, it is possible that with slight adjustment, various sizes of Spoons can
be fed through the same. As most of the times the spoons are used for medical or food
requirements, either a stainless steel bowl or else a cast aluminium bowl with
proper FDA compliant coating has to be used. In case of Spoon Feeding, not only is the
Orientation very critical but the Speed or Feed Rate required to be achieved is
also very high. Additionally, singling or escapement can be provided which in
turn helps in releasing one Spoon at a time. Speeds / feed rates of approximately 80 to 100 Spoons per minute can be achieved
depending upon the size of the Spoon. This type of Vibratory Bowl Feeder has tremendous requirement for all Pharmaceutical Machine Manufacturers as well as
user industries for automating their various processes.

Feeding of Conical Washers is not easy in a vibratory bowl feeder due to its very less thickness. In most cases, the thickness is just 0.6 mm to 0.8 mm. Due to its conical curvature, the washers have a tendency of coming in a bunch and it is difficult to remove one out of the bunch. Orientation too is very critical as these washer need to be assembled in the correct orientation. This makes it pertinent to have a bowl feeder that not only feeds correctly oriented parts consistently but also feeds them in a single row, thereby eliminating the chances of double feeding of the washers. A properly designed bowl feeder can feed such conical washers and also eliminate the possibility of their bunching together. Further adding a linear track can result in easy movement of the conical washers and allows them to be picked up easily by a pick and place device by isolating the last washer.
